Crazy Little Thing Called Life

Pin It Now!

Well here we are, nearly May, and it seems like every day I receive new pictures kids have drawn.
I love these. I open my email, anxiously waiting for it to load, to see what little artists have been sent my way and where they are from. This last weekend, in between checking my email...again... I completed two little creatures to send on their way. The first is a sort of arts and crafts project by a boy named Adam who was 7 at the time. He is 16 now, and they still have his artwork on the fridge as a joke.
So, for the record, this is the second...maybe third peice I have made NOT from a drawing, but from an arts and crafts peice.
It IS possible, and I'm open to doing more in the future. :)

Feeling pleased with this little guy, I moved on to Miss Emerson's little "Masterpeice Lady".
Emerson is 4 1/2 years old, and....
I must warn you. This is awful cute.

Boasting 27 hairs, and earrings, this little lady is dressed in blue plushie shoes, and ready to make her way to Emerson.

Here's to another great month of creativity!

Thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU to my subscribers, and to everyone who has bookmarked my page, shared me on FaceBook, Twitter, Pinterest, or just with a friend over coffee.
Because of all of your support, I am able to spend my time creating these little creatures that make children all over the world incredibly happy.
So please know, I appreciate you all so much!

Busy, Busy, Busy!

Pin It Now!
When I began this week, I wanted to get the three characters to go with Mr. Worrythoughts completed.
I succeeded...and then some!

So here are the three finished characters, Bayden, worried, with his trusty teddy bear by his side, then courageous!

The teddy was made larger in proportion than shown in the illustration, to give the child something to hold during the reading of the story.

Once these three were complete, I referred to my list, to see who or what was up next.
These were so cute, I hated to see them go!

Eugen, from The Netherlands, had "Fluffiness" made for his friend Maria, as a birthday gift.
What a happy face to see opening a gift!

Aside from sewing 20 of the 24 hours in a day, I DO have a day job.
I was treating a patient one day, and we were talking about this blog, and how much fun it's been.
He said his son was quite the artist and asked if he could bring a picture he's drawn to have a softie made. Of course!
So this is Samuel's Owl, named "Phoenix" I guess little birds can dream, huh?

Mr. Worrythoughts, 1 of 4

Pin It Now!
When I started this blog a little over a month ago, one of my first emails was from a talented author in Austrailia.
She asked me to make softies of the characters in her book, to help her tell the story, and make it come alive.
Of the four characters, I began with Mr. Worrythoughts, the "bad guy". There was no rhyme or reason to choosing him, it just sort of happened. He turned out...quite intense.
I'm hoping he isn't TOO scary!
So here is the progression of Mr. Worrythoughts;
First, sculpt the face. Complete with mole on the nose, I let it dry overnight.
Whew.

Then came paint...

Then, the "body" and sinister looking hands....

This is one bad dude. I mean, I wouldn't want to cross him!
The three other characters will be completed and posted soon,
stay tuned!

Purry, the Cat

Pin It Now!
Purry, By Sam, age 5
As I was sitting at my sewing table, a small blue peice of fabric fell out of my bin onto my feet.
"Hmm," I thought, "I wonder what you will be."
I picked it up, remembered a cute drawing that I received recently, and began shaping it into a soft kitty.
"Hi, I am Purry." it said to me.
"My goodness...you sure came to life quickly!"

I smiled and fitted him with whiskers.
"These will help me to find Sam," he exclaimed.
"When do I get to play with him? We have many adventures to go on!"
He peered around my craft room.
"You will be with him very soon," I assured him, "And you will definatly need your cat-naps when you get there."

"No I won't," said Purry.
"All I need is my boy, Sam. I am so excited!"

What does God Look Like?

Pin It Now!

Answer: Nobody knows.
But for people who were raised with the knowledge of God and the devil as children,
you may have had your own idea of how they look.

Dasha, from Georgia, sure does.

So here is what Dasha thinks God looks like. Pretty neat, huh?
"God is nice. He is trying to make people happy lives.
He has a big nice heart. He does not have any legs, instead he has a invisible floaty."

And here is the Devil.
"The devil lost its teeth so, he put them on his yucky Bloody shoes. His mouth is so bloody that everybody just ignores him. He has little knives on his hands. He has a tiny heart."

I hope you enjoy these two, Dasha, they will be on their way soon!
