Texas Heat! One More Reason to Sew!

Pin It Now!
My Goodness, the temp hit 110 this week!
The good news is sewing is an indoor hobby...
But I'm SURE I heard sizzling when I went outside barefoot!

This adorable finger painting came to me during my cousin's wedding reception. It was a very cute wedding, and during our chat at the reception, I thought I'd check in, and see if I had any new pictures :) I can't wait to get her little girl, Riley's drawing!

Anywho...Tractor!
Maja's dad emailed me this painting and said "she keeps turning it this way insisting it's a tractor- I hope you can see it!"

Eric and I turned it around and around...and figured it out!

Aidan's mom sent me a very good drawing of a Golden Retreiver.
This is the first spotted one I have seen, though!

Isn't he adorable? His name is Elvis :)

Here is the completed Elvis softie...

These two will be on their way this week! More to come soon!

Happy Father's Day!

Pin It Now!
Hooray for the day when we celebrate the men who fix things that break, take out stinky trash, and throw the ol' pigskin around with us. Dads are so important!

I received an email to make a special Father's day gift for a lucky dad in Houston named Steven.

Here is his daughter's drawing of the two of them.
He is the one on the right, with the glasses.
SO CUTE!

And here is the Father's Day softie!

In the spirit of celebrating parents, I received a picture of a little boy named Niko, who is 4. This is him and his mother, holding hands. Precious.

If you look closely at this photo, you'll see little white tags...That's my Kid Inspired Creatures tag! They finally came in, and I am SO excited to be able to add them to my softies now. Hooray!

Have a great Father's Day, everyone, and be sure he knows he is appreciated! :)

Do you Doodle Jump?

Pin It Now!
Ever seen this guy? That's right, he's the star of the iOS game Doodle Jump. If you haven't downloaded it yet, you should. It's great fun! I understand it was out before Angry Birds
...and it's just as addicting.
The creator of Doodle Jump has an 8 month old son he wanted the toy for. So I searched, found some toddler friendly fabrics, and created a 3D version of the little guy.

Presenting Doodle Jump: In the plush!

As I get these completed, I try to get each of them posted, that way their artist has his or her moment to shine.
That said, I feel really bad about forgetting this one until now.
Jake graduated kindergarten a few weeks ago, and this was his gift for doing so well.

Here is his dragon, which is SUPER work for a 7 year old

And here is the 3D version of his awesome drawing:

That's all for today, but I have a very special post for Father's Day tomorrow...stay tuned!

Flower the Giraffe

Pin It Now!
There once was a Giraffe named Flower.
"Hi!"
She was created in imagination by a sweet little girl named Kayla.
She drew her and imagined her playing in fields with other giraffes and eating flowers.

One day, Kayla decided having a drawn picture was not enough. Drawing her friend, Flower was fun, but she can't hug a drawing or have make believe tea parties with it. She can't have slumber parties with a picture or take it to school for show and tell.

Flower could tell her friend needed a giraffe hug, so one day, while Kayla was asleep, she peeled herself off a peice of pink paper she had been drawn on...

And TA-DA!

Flower was a real Giraffe.
She giggled as she waited for her friend Kayla to wake up.

"This is going to be the greatest surpise" She thought.
"I can't wait for my first hug!"

Grandparents and a Couple Cuties!

Pin It Now!
May just flew by!
I think I looked at the calendar, and it was the 9th, looked again, and thought "Oh my goodness, tomorrow is JUNE!"

A very sweet email came to me last month. It will be the grandparent's anniversary, and they have a 5 year old grandson, Ryder.
Here is the photo I received.
Now...I didn't think grandma and grandpa would be sporting mohawks, so I asked for a photo, and what kind of hair they REALLY had. Turns out Grandma Nancy has brown shoulder length hair, and Grandpa Jim has a grey combover :) Also, they both have glasses.

As I was formulating how to complete these two, I thought it appropriate that they hold hands, being their anniversary and all. Allison, a friend of ours, suggested magnets for the hands. So that's just what I did.

Another email I got was from Barry, in sunny California.
His brother drew their dad when he was 3years old, and years later wanted to have it made into a softie.
This was a fun challenge :)

He said it should be detailed, and look as close to the photo as possible.
So here is the little "potato head" dad.

Once Potato head dad was completed, the next picture came from Sam in Idaho. His 5 year old granddaughter drew a blue puppy driving a car. This was very important to her because she has been wanting a puppy, and this blue dog is the closest she will come to having one for a while.
So here is Sarah's blue dog drawing:
Here is her completed Blue dog, riding in his car :)

Onward to the next drawings :)
Thank you for the continued drawings, and support.
I now have a Facebook page, for all of you who are on Facebook!
